So, Dec 2017, I decided to dedicate myself to focusing on all things artistic for 6 months. All of my time was my own to do with as I wished. For the next 6 months, I did alot of writing. I got out my journal and wrote down my plan. I needed to figure out what exactly I wanted to focus on. I mean, of course it would be music, but what area? I wasn´t 20 anymore. What I found was that now that I had the time to read – like really read – and meditate on it, I was having alot of aha! moments:
Time has changed alot. Labels aren´t looking for women my age. And I was changing. I was finding that I was spending alot of my time writing. Writing songs, blogs, writing about everything – spirituality, religion, politics, causes, I created blogs then tore them down. I built websites and then deleted them.
I travelled to the Caribbean in February of 2018. I had no responsibilities – I had given up my apartment in Canada a long time ago and was just renting outside of Canada.
Around May, I could feel that my family was really trying to tell me that I was needed in their lives. I felt it too. My Mom was having some serious health issues, and I really felt that I needed to spend time with her.
May 2018
I had been doing alot of thinking and writing and thinking. It had been 4 years since I first decided to leave everything behind and try to find happiness. Find my way. As I sat in my apartment at night, I reflected upon my life, my family, my dreams, and where I was with all that. I found a video that I would like to share with you. I had done a series of videos to outline my 6 month sabbatical and this one was kind of a summary of it:
I really felt that it was time for me to be with my family. I still didn´t know which direction I needed to take, but I felt like I didn´t really need to make a decision. Why did I have to KNOW exactly what my path was? I mean, I knew and still know it involves the arts, but why do I have to put so much pressure on myself to decide? Why force life? If I follow my heart, live with intention, and everyday take steps that are productive by doing things and experiencing things that make me happy, won´t that lead me to where I need to be? If I allow myself to follow my natural interests and find out what my roadblocks are, won´t that streamline my talents, skills, interests to one area? I do know that I´m drawn to projects that mean something.
My family started looking for apartments for me. Nothing was working out. Several weeks went by and everything I wanted wasn´t working out. June 18th would be my 6 months.
Finally, I decided that if I wanted to get back home, I needed to forget about relying on other people. Forget about looking for an apartment. I was going to buy a little trailer.
With the help of my family, we found one and I bought it. I booked my flight back home. June 5th.

Saturday June 22 2018
Well, I’m sitting in my little trailer with Bear (my cat and my best friend of 10 years) at my feet. It’s quiet here. I have everything I need. Just have to fix the water issue. No biggie. The trip home was so easy. Mario´s family ended up coming through and drove me to the airport. We took the back roads back and saw all the little towns and we had lunch at their friends place. The hotel room was a disappointment but again, it served it’s purpose. The flight was excellent. No issues with Bear. My family was waiting for me in Toronto and took me to my little spot. Trailer was ready as planned. It was a very long trip for Bear, so I took care of her first. Gave her fresh food and water and got her little nest all ready. My family came to welcome me and we had a wonderful visit. The sisters week end came and went. It was great. Everything has been awesome. I am where I want to be.
